Where should a drink go on your desk?
Start with your reach and working area, then choose a level spot away from electronics and the edge.

Map your working area first
Sit down and use your keyboard, mouse and notebook normally. Notice where your hand travels, where papers spread and where cables move. A drink that fits an empty desk may be in the way once you actually start working. Keep that active area clear.
Choose a spot you can reach directly
Try the side opposite your mouse if that leaves a comfortable, clear reach. This is a starting point, not a rule: your handedness, desk layout and other equipment may favor a different spot. Avoid reaching over the keyboard or across an open notebook to pick up a drink.
Check the whole base and the edge
Steadi needs a level, stationary spot supporting its full 5.2-inch footprint. Leave extra room for fingers and distance from the desk edge. Do not bridge a mat seam, cable, groove or raised object. A footprint that only just fits is not the same as a comfortable drinking space.
Separate stabilization from liquid containment
Steadi helps resist tipping but does not catch liquid or seal a container. Keep open drinks away from electronics and important papers. A suitable closed bottle can address liquid containment in a way a wider base cannot; follow its manufacturer’s instructions.
When the desktop has no suitable spot
Do not force a drink between a mousepad and the edge. Clear space, use a separate stable surface within reach, or compare a holder designed for your desk’s mounting area. Keeping the drink off the desktop may matter more than keeping it beside the keyboard.
